In many cases a patient may require or request that they be sedated for a dental procedure to achieve maximal comfort. General anesthesia/intravenous sedation is performed by administering sedative medications through an IV.
Patients being sedated will need to have no food or liquid intake for 8 hours prior to their appointment. They must also have a responsible adult drive them to and from the office. Unfortunately, Uber and Lyft type services do not qualify as valid drivers.
